[.name]
Alexander Maxwell Fitzroy (but just call him Alex)
[.age]
Twenty six
[.gender]
Male
[.role]
Seeker
[.power]
He has the gift of mimicry. In a matter of seconds, Alex can change his appearance and voice to completely copy another. All that is required is the memory of the last time he made physical contact, anything from a handshake to a kiss, with the person he wishes to impersonate. Once he makes that contact with someone, their appearance at that very moment becomes stored in his mind, free to be used for an assignment or just plain mischief... as long as he can recall that encounter.
However, the information stored within him does not update as the original does. Changes that happen to the model, such as a haircut, a new scar, or the effects of aging, will not be reflected in Alex's little charade. Thus, if he wishes to use the same disguise again, he needs to remain in contact with the person to keep the replica perfect... though it never can be, seeing as how his eye color, no matter what he does, will forever be the same. His power also does not come with a clothing rack, often forcing him to stop by a local store or find a uniform that fits.
[.description]
Alex has light toned skin and stands at an average height of 5'10". Despite the training he's made to go through as a Seeker, he only has some muscle to show for it and harbors a small frame. His eyes are a solid amber that forever remain with him regardless of what his shape shifting abilities may do. He has golden brown hair which he mostly keeps short and simple, only having the patience to swiftly run a comb through it. He rarely has any facial hair, preferring the clean shaven look; the slightest hint of a beard only tends to appear on long periods away from home. Barely visible scars can be seen on his hands from all the tricks he tries to do with his butterfly knife.
Coming from an ancient and prominent family of Avalon, he is expected to dress the part, and for the most part he does though only to cease his mother's nagging. As he walks around the castle, one can expect to see him in some sort of dress shirt with trousers and whatever else his mother coerced him into wearing. However, when outside the Castle or on an assignment as a Seeker, Alex switches into something much more comfortable such as jeans and a t-shirt, much to Mrs. Fitzroy's chagrin.
[.personality]
When first meeting him under normal circumstances, Alex can appear rather aloof. He keeps his distance with people, having only something snarky to say and displaying little emotion. If he's working with others he doesn't quite trust -- normally newbie Seekers -- he can be extremely overbearing, always trying to make things go his own way and ignoring any opposing suggestions.
However, when he's with someone he's decided is respectable, Alex turns into a completely different person. The cold demeanor melts away to reveal an outgoing, lively boy. Among his friends, he could easily be the most talkative, cracking jokes whenever an opportunity shows itself. Even on a team, he's more willing to hearing others' opinions, but he still pushes his ideas forward rather vehemently.
Though he joined the Seekers more out of spite than anything else, he is now entirely loyal to General Hilram and his colleagues (if he likes them enough). He will accept practically any assignment offered to him regardless of whether or not his skills can be effective. Even when he realizes that shape shifting isn't the Gift of the Day, he still tries to make himself of some use, determined to finish up the job; he isn't afraid to use underhanded techniques either, though it pretty much comes with the power.
Born and raised as an Islander, he was taught quite simply that he as an Islander was at the top of the food chain, Newcomers were below him, Forsaken were the enemy, and the Non-Gifted were dirt only present to serve him. Working as a Seeker has somewhat changed these ideals. Although Forsaken will forever be seen as the enemy, he's now accepting of Newcomers, ignoring the circumstances that may separate them. However, he's still not sure what to think of the Non-Gifted. As their name implies, they lack powers of any sort -- even the outcast Forsaken have something to be proud of! Unable to make up his mind, Alex has chosen to ignore the situation, a solution he uses a little too much, and just accept the service the Non-Gifted provide.
When he's not trying to root out Gifted in the Outside World or keeping the Forsaken at bay, Alex can usually be found causing some mischief with a group of friends around the Castle or practicing his archery in Seekers' Tower. Occasionally, he can be caught twirling one of his many butterfly knives, careful to not nick his already scarred hands.
[.history]
Mr. and Mrs. Fitzroy, both coming from dignified Islander families were not surprised to see that their son was gifted; no, what they were surprised to see was a clone of Mr. Fitzoy, starting to put on some weight and already losing some of his hair on top, cramped up in a crib and screaming his head off in tears. And thus, Alexander Maxwell Fitzroy's gift of mimicry was discovered.
Growing up, Alex was confined to the Castle grounds and only allowed to associate with other Islanders who were quite simply boring. Few of them seemed to possess the same adventuresome attitude as Alex, the same one that would one day call him to climb one of the highest trees just outside the Castle and create a fear of heights that follows him even today. The event caused Mrs. Fitzroy to tighten her iron grip on the child and make every decision for him, including which girl he would marry once he became of age. The idea of marriage proved to be too much for him to bear and when he turned the appropriate age, he immediately applied to become a Seeker. Ideas of missions and adventures in the Outside World and a desire for a life away from home flooded his head, causing him to overlook the fact that there was a two year training period and it would be a while before he could move into the Seekers' Tower. Meals with the family for a couple of weeks were more than awkward, Alex having to suffer the death glares and the accusations of betrayal from his mother. But at last, he was free.
